Surface is pleased to announce our annual volunteer show, Heart of the Gallery.

Heart of the Gallery showcases artwork created by our dedicated team of volunteers. The work on display ranges from McMillan’s moving image exploring overproduction and its ecological impact, to Willey’s paintings reconsidering the representation of flowers, and Long’s upcyled creations highlighting the importance of bees to the ecosystem. Whether it’s Buttrum’s mixed-media photography or Wilshere’s handmade lace and digital collage contemplating aspects of identity, Heart of the Gallery promises a broad and diverse visual experience as varied as the practices and concerns of the artists involved. Come along and support the people that give their time and energy to Surface, and who truly are the beating heart of the gallery.

Heart of the Gallery will open in the Main Gallery. As always, there will be a donations bar with ales from local brewery, Pheasantry.
