Development Manager

We are seeking to appoint a Development Manager. This is a new role within the organisation and offered as a freelance contract on a one-year, fixed term basis with the express intention of an extension to the contract beyond the initial contract term. The role is to provide support across a number of areas, building on our core funding pillars (Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Arts Council England, Paul Hamlyn Foundation):

–      Trusts and foundations –We are seeking support across public, trust/foundation and commercial sectors.Adding to capacity in this area would be helpful, e.g. researching and identifying opportunities and providing strategic direction, trust liaison (the core team will complete and submit applications).

–      Individual giving scheme – We are keen to establish a tiered individual giving scheme, and potentially leading to legacy opportunities, tapping into the wide and varied networks in which we work across sectors, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

–      High Net Worth Individuals – Working closely with our Chair and board to build relationships with individuals with a particular interest in Stoke-on-Trent and/or ceramics, and supporting major initiatives in the city.

–      Commercial sponsorship – The ceramics industry in the sub-region remains very important to both BCB and the city, and as such should continue to be a part of the private sector targeting, supported by strong links already established through BCB and of course the City Council, albeit not the only focus.
