This is an exciting new opportunity to enable Creative Melbourne Gallery to meet it’s long term objective to establish itself as a hub for the wider creative community, though a series of workshops and other engagements. (Temporary Role – 6 to 12 months)
The Project Lead role will oversee a new project which initially we see running for the next 6- 12 months to enable us to achieve the following outcomes:
- Design and deliver a programme of workshops and “drop in events, directed at a diverse audience over the next 18 months.
- The workshops need to be relevant to and attract our priority target audiences, identified from areas of lower engagement.
- The programme will be self sustaining with clear understanding of costs and benefits
- There will be engagement with local artists delivering the workshops and a network established of local artists/creatives using the gallery as a hub. .
- There will need to be evidence captured that a contribution to tackling some of the social issues eg isolation.
Funding for the project has been set aside and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate how the outcomes will be delivered with payment milestones along the way.
Job Requirements
The project lead will design and deliver a programme for delivering the outcome to establish the gallery as a hub for creative and artistic practice within the local community.
This is primarily a Community Engagement initiative, so experience of having run similar projects will be required;
Good communication skills, & some marketing experience will be essential, along with proven networking skills. Ability to run meetings/ workshops in person and on webinar will be desirable.
The person must be self-directed £ self managed, without direct supervision -being highly self motivated & organised will be essential.
This project needs imaginative and creative ideas to deliver the outcomes, so a person with empathy, creative thinking and imagination will be needed.
The Project Leads should have experience of working with people from our target groups
Evidence of successfully running community projects& making successful bids for grant funding is desirable.
