Attenborough Arts Centre are partnering with Creative Producers Morgan Stockton and Pasha Kincaid of Seeds & Dreams to produce an exhibition with the working title ‘Traces,’ in Spring 2024. The initial inspiration for the show came from working with children and young people printing with their wheelchair wheels.
We want to invite up to two additional artists to expand on the exhibitions current content. We are particularly interested in proposals that are informed by wider exploration of how physical disability can influence artistic creative processes. We would like to hear from artists working in any type of visual medium, but are especially interested in representing practices that offer alternative perspectives on the overall theme.
The exhibition will run from late February – mid May 2024.
Deadline: Sunday 10 September, 11:59am
Fee: Up to £2000 depending on the nature of the project
Eligibility Criteria: We will only accept submissions from artists who identify as disabled or who are proposing disability-led projects. We follow the social model of disability, therefore ‘disabled people’ includes D/deaf people, people with long term mental or physical health conditions and people who consider themselves neurodivergent.
