About

In Good Company brings you the first scratch night of 2024!

Joining together with Attenborough Arts Centre, this is a chance to come see some brand new pieces of work and have a chance to feedback ideas and thoughts that will help develop the pieces. These new works will hopefully go onto become bigger and better, and all with the help of you.

Evening Line-Up:

Good Orgasm – Raina is trying to figure out how to have good sex, whatever that means. Featuring burlesque, diary entries, affirmations, and lots of semi-comfortable lingerie, Good Orgasm looks to redefine what we imagine sex positivity can be. Suitable for 18+

Girls on Fire – Girls on Fire is a work in progress that shows the story of Hannie Schaff and Freddie and Truss Oversteegen, three women fundamental to the Dutch resistance, who seduced and killed Nazi soldiers during WWII. Combined with key historical events of their narratives, our play explored their friendship, romances, losses and aspirations. Suitable for 12+

Ekatra – When we break ourselves into pieces to fit into everyone else’s world, it’s near impossible to fit them back together. Kajol floats like a lost astronaut from Tom’s, Izzy’s, Aisha’s, and her family’s world. However, just as she thinks everything is perfectly balanced, the worlds collide. In Ekatra she is pushed to mature her approach before she becomes wholly alienated. Suitable for 13+

Captain Godfrey and the Last Shanty – Join Captain Godfrey and his motley crew as they adventure across treacherous waters, battle bewitching sirens and learn the art of yodelling to catch fish. Through visual storytelling and original, live and looped music, this family show explores the many things we hold close to our hearts. Suitable for all ages.

Show Warning: Good Orgasm contains full frontal and partial nudity at various points in the piece, mess with food and references to rape and assault throughout, though no explicit description of sexual violence. Girls on Fire contains strong language, mentions of sexual content and violence, and explores themes of war.
