About

Normanton-based community arts organisation, ARTCORE will be showcasing new works by artists in residence Jane Smith and Jason Taylor. The work has been inspired and produced during their residency at Artcore. The exhibition will also feature previous works, all exhibited together for the first time.

Jason Taylor has pursued a new direction for his work, whilst continuing to use off the shelf items. Ideas of charting pathways have developed the concept of place to place, from push pins and string on a map, to a different kind of aesthetic, creating dramatic shapes and perspectives.

As our Derby University graduate, Jane Smith has used the residency to explore ideas of unity and togetherness. Through a series of new works concentrating on clasped hands, Jane develops the idea of holding together exploring the intensity and composure that this brings.

The Exhibition is on until 28th February 2017 Monday – Friday 10.00am – 4.30 pm.
