This day-long public symposium features presentations, performances, and rants by artists based throughout the UK.

The Artist Taxi Driver, Mark McGowan offers a keynote presentation.

Artists and academics Ruth Beale, Tim Brennan, Dean Brannagan, Shirley Cameron, Ben Campkin, Chiara Dellerba, Andrea Gibson, Joanne Lee, radical rethink, Rebecca Ross, Miffy Ryan, Evelyn Silver, Jane Tormey, Mo White, Gillian Whiteley, and Andrew Wilson will follow.

The For & Against Research Symposium is £5 to attend. Tickets should be booked in advance at http://store.lboro.ac.uk/conferences-and-events/lu-arts-lua/radar/for-and-against-art-politics-and-the-pamphlet.

Lunch is provided.

Please note the venue is only accessible via stairs.

The Symposium is followed by the opening of an exhibition comprising collections of historical and contemporary pamphlets at Loughborough’s Charnwood Museum.

For & Against is a collaboration between Radar, Loughborough University’s Dr Gillian Whiteley and Dr Jane Tormey, and RadicalAesthetics-RadicalArt (RaRa), bringing together research in to the radical traditions of the political pamphlet and contemporary art practice.

We are delighted to be working with artists and collectives Ruth Beale, Freee, Ferenc Gróf, Patrick Goddard, LIttle Riot Press, Ciara Phillips, and Rory Pilgrim.
