A discussion of the exhibition Visualising the Network in relation to David Joselit’s influential article “Painting Beside Itself”, published in the journal October in 2009 (No. 130, pp. 125-134)in which he sets out the case for “transitive painting,” a form of practice which draws attention to the broader networks within which art is made and received.

All the artists – Jeff Clarkson, Mik Godley, Derek Hampson, Gurminder Sikand, Peter Suchin, Rob Van Beek – will be present for the dicsussion in the gallery.

All welcome. Attendance is free but space is limited, please contact us to reserve a place.
