About

Tennyson’s Wake is the launch of an exciting new art project with an accompanying workshop, held on the 125th anniversary of the Lord Alfred Tennyson’s death on 6th October 1892. Artists Danica Maier, Andrew Bracey and Sarah Bennet will launch their project Bummock: New Artistic Responses to Unseen Parts of the Tennyson Research Centre which includes a three-year residency in the Tennyson Research Centre in Lincoln. The famous poet was born in Lincolnshire and lived in the county for much of his life.

Hosted by the Waddington Cultural Collective this free event will include a short presentation about the project, an opportunity to discuss and share stories about Tennyson with the artists and a workshop run by invited guest artist Kate Buckley. The workshop will invite the audience to work with, change, develop and manipulate Tennyson’s text. These playful experiments with text will be projected onto the architecture of the venue throughout the event.

This is a free event but booking is essential as places are limited. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tennysons-wake-tickets-3813924…
