Primary is an artist-led space in Nottingham that supports creative research through artist studios and residencies, public exhibitions and events.
Officially opened in 2012, Primary was set up by Nottingham Studios Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation established as a registered charity (in 2009), transforming a former Victorian school building in Radford into a centre for artistic production in the East Midlands.
Through a continuity of ambition – from securing the building and establishing high quality artists studios, to developing new partnerships and shaping the national and international public programme – Primary has rapidly flourished into a key artist-led organisation in the East Midlands, supported by Nottingham City Council and Arts Council England and a range of grant funding from trusts and foundations.
We are currently expanding the staff team which operates at the heart of Primary; each role forms an essential part of developing the organisation, working directly with artists and the public. We are looking for a Development Manager to join at this exciting time in the development of Primary, to take an active and strategic role in fundraising, organisational management and partnership development.
We’re looking for someone with the skills for this role, and also the passion and commitment to contribute to a shared vision for Primary. The successful person will be highly organised and motivated, working closely with the staff team and Board of Trustees, to support the implementation and review of strategic development and to ensure the effective management of the organisation.
