About

NCCD will be transformed into a design studio this summer when design duo NEON, Mark Nixon and Viliina Koivisto, take over as Designers in Residence and invite you to come and participate in In the Studio.

This five year retrospective of NEON’s artistic practice demystifies the design process behind their major projects including Pump House Pavilion, The Wind Cathedral and NEON x Seoul Shoe Street. The retrospective forms part of a larger NK Arts Partnership project Ridges & Furrows, which has brought NEON to Sleaford over the past three months to engage in creative community consultation. NEON will continue their research by using NCCD’s Main Gallery as a test-bed for new ideas developed with the community, for the community, culminating in a sharing event on Saturday 6 October.

NEON is an award-winning design practice that seeks to explore new territories between architecture, design and art. For NEON, design is a process of invention and discovery that grows from the social, economic and technological environment.
