About

Tarpey Gallery is excited to announce ‘Light, Shade and Colour‘ a solo show by Derby based painter Deb Allitt. The work that has been produced for Allitt’s second solo exhibition at Tarpey Gallery derives from the artists desire to convey the same emotional uplift that we feel when walking and exploring our beautiful British countryside – Trees laden with blossom by a rushing river in the summer sunshine or deep quiet shadows with glowing colours in autumnal woodland.

Using colour, light and an expressive approach these new works continue the evolution from a more abstract based approach to interpreting the landscape, to this more representational style with Impressionist and Post Impressionist influences.

The exhibition will feature 7 small to large scale oils on canvas with views from Polurrian Cove, Cornwall to Stanage Edge, South Yorkshire.

We hope you can join us on Sunday 15th July, 3 – 5pm for the opening and opportunity to meet the artist.
