About

As part of Nottdance 2022, Nottingham Contemporary will host the UK premiere of Dog Rising by Clara Furey. An exploration of tension and immobility, Dog Rising is a performance focusing on persistence, groove and pleasure.

Dog Rising comes together like a polyphony of pulsating bodies. Furey turns her attention to the way sound vibrations penetrate the bones, the way our skeletons absorb shocks.

Furey constructs an architecture of pleasure. The trio of dancers are fed by empathy and acute attention to the needs of their bodies. Through their tireless movement work, tensions are released in the endless repetition of cyclical gestures. It invites us to embark on an extreme journey, a mesmerising, haunting, and penetrating spiral.”
