About
Join us for an inspiring insight into some of the ways that asylum seekers and refugees are using the creative arts as a source of self-empowerment. We will screen The Baulkham Hills African Ladies Troupe directed by Ros Horin, a documentary following four charismatic African women who fled as refugees to Australia, and turned their stories of survival into theatre. This will be followed by a panel of inspiring writers, theatre directors and cultural activists from within and beyond the Nottingham refugee community, including poet Mirriam Mutanda.
