LIMITS 2025 – 11th Workshop on Computing within Limits – Hub

“The LIMITS workshop concerns the role of computing in human societies situated in a world of limits, such as limits of extractive logics, limits to a biosphere’s ability to recover, limits to our knowledge, or limits to technological solutions to societal issues. As an interdisciplinary group of researchers, practitioners, and scholars, we seek to reshape the computing research agenda, grounded by an awareness that contemporary computing research is intertwined with ecological limits in general, and climate- and climate justice-related limits in particular. LIMITS 2025 solicits submissions that move us closer towards computing that supports diverse human and non-human lifeforms and thriving biospheres.”

The LIMITS-hub at New Media Art Club’s Co-Working Studio Lab takes place on the 26th and 27th of June 2025 between 3-9pm.

We hope to invite participants to join us for lunch before the session begins on 26th.

After the closing of the session on 27th we hope to celebrate by attending the festivities at LCB’s Last Friday event.

Participants will require a laptop and headphones. Please let us know if you wish to attend but are unable to supply either of these.

Schedule:

Thursday 26th

1pm – Meet participants for lunch at Gray’s (LCB Depot’s delicious cafe)

2.30pm – Get everyone connected to the wifi

3pm – Session begins – breaks scheduled throughout

9pm – Session finishes

Friday 27th

2.30pm – Participants arrive and get set up

3pm – Session begins  – breaks scheduled throughout

9pm – Session finishes, go for a drink! and street food at Last Friday

LCB Depot, where we are based, has step free access and each floor as an accessible toilet, shower, and a kitchenette. We will also provide snacks 🙂
