Artist Residency: West Yorkshire

idle women is an organisation that initiates and creates contemporary art with and by women. They are seeking a socially motivated artist with collaborative practice to live and work with them for three months (March – May 2017). The artist will be working with women and girls in and around the areas of Mirfield, Dewsbury and Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire. The residency is housed on board the narrow boat/ arts space the ‘Selina Cooper’ and the artist will spend a period of three months working and living on board developing new collaborative work with local women and girls. This residency is open to women artists who work across a range of practices including (but not exclusively) spoken word, theatre, visual arts, music, digital platforms, film, photography, dialogical practice and performance. There is a fee of £6,000 & additional funds for costs during residency and process.
