Development Manager – Arts Council Collection

The Arts Council Collection is the national loan collection of modern and contemporary British art. Founded in 1946, the Collection is committed to reaching the broadest possible audience through long loans to public institutions, digital and print publication and exhibition loans and touring exhibitions to regional museums and galleries. It is dedicated to supporting artists through purchases and exhibitions at key moments in their career and safeguarding their work for future generations using the highest possible standards of collection care.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Development Manager with a passion for visual arts to join our team. This is a new role which will enable the successful candidate to shape the future of this country’s foremost collection of modern and contemporary art.

With experience of fundraising from trusts and foundations, you will support the Director of the Arts Council Collection in maximising income from trusts, foundations and public funders from around the world to support the collection.

Together with the the Director of the Arts Council Collection, Head of Grants and Trusts and the Director of Business Development, you will develop a strategy to continue to build fundraising from trusts, foundations and other public funders. You will take responsibility for researching and writing a wide range of applications as agreed with Head of Grants and Trusts. With experience in dealing tactfully and diplomatically with a wide range of people, you will  build strong relationships across the operational teams at Southbank Centre to create proposals and budgets for applications.

You will have the ability to assemble budgets for fundraising applications, and provide excellent communication with grant-giving funders ensuring that their support is acknowledged with agreed benefits and policies.
