Exhibition & Interpretation Officer

Working across the Lincolnshire County Council portfolio of Heritage Service sites including the recently re-opened Lincoln Castle, the award winning Collection museum and Usher gallery, Gainsborough Old Hall, the Museum of Lincolnshire Life and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre, the Exhibitions & Interpretation Officer will deliver an exciting public programme of exhibitions and interpretation projects to drive visitor volume and deepen engagement with our sites and collections.  The programme will also include a contemporary visual arts programme.  In this role you will support the development, design and delivery of our programme and so will have a flair for co-ordination and organisation, and a sound track record of delivering projects on time and on budget. You should have the creative ability and experience of working within the cultural sector and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with the public, colleagues, external stakeholders and volunteers.

As a key member of the Exhibitions and Interpretation team, you work with colleagues to deliver an associated range of events, exhibitions and learning activities at The Collection and at other venues that are part of the Heritage Service.  You will also assist the Exhibitions and Interpretation Manager in delivering against service and team plan targets.

The Collection is one of Arts Council England’s (ACE’s) National Portfolio Organisations (NPO) and will be embarking upon a four year programme in April 2018.   The post holder will be involved in   maintaining NPO status; this will include development and delivery of the programme, achieving performance targets, forward planning, monitoring, evaluation, and the production of reports.  Familiarity with Microsoft IT software packages is expected

Some weekend and evening working will be required.

Salary range between £21,000 to £24,000 (Salary Grade G6)
