The CoED Foundation, Near Neighbours Birmingham and the Birmingham Museum Trust are working in partnership this year to host an International Women’s Day 2017 event on Wednesday 8th March 2017.
The aim of the day is to CELEBRATE the services and achievements of women in the community and faith sector in Birmingham. The programme will run from 1.00pm at the Museum as a celebration day that will close with our ‘Tell me a Story’ event from 5:30pm to 7.00pm.
We invite women from all walks of life to submit their story, which includes:
– A piece of writing in any form; monologue, poem, short story.
– The piece must be between 5 – 7 minutes in duration.
– Our theme of celebration of women! must be included in your story.
This can be a personal account, a story of a friend or loved one who has inspired you, or an expression of how wonderful women are!
– We are looking for a diverse range of voices from across the city. You do not have to be a professional writer or performer but there will be a small fee for the artists whose work is chosen for the event.

– Piece of writing with title and estimated duration (5 – 7 mins)

– If you can or cannot attend the event
– If you are happy to read your own work on the night
