FORMAT and LCB Depot are delighted to announce the Open Call for international artists to submit work for an exhibition as part of FORMAT24 Presents. We welcome diverse and imaginative proposals and projects from photographers and artists that relate to the theme Future Now. Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work in QUAD’s Extra Gallery Spaces in Derby and LCB Depot in Leicester.
Photography serves as a powerful tool for time travel, capturing moments and preserving the essence of people, places, and objects that may otherwise fade into history. It grants us the unique ability to reconstruct the past and ensure that memories endure into the future.
As part of Future Now, we invite diverse and imaginative approaches, embracing everything from traditional archives to cutting-edge conceptual projects. We welcome proposals across various mediums, including photographic series, film, multimedia, installations, publications, performances, and participatory projects. Artists working in different themes and disciplines are encouraged to contribute to our exploration of connecting with the future through the lens of photography.
We particularly encourage applications from disabled/neurodivergent creatives, LGBT+ creatives and people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are currently under-represented in the cultural sector.
