Furniture maker wanted

I’m looking for somebody to work in my business Sherwood Wood which is based in Nottingham. I design & build furniture for customers in the local area and sometimes further afield.

The majority of the work takes place in the workshop where the furniture is built, but as most of the furniture is fitted there is also regular site work, mainly domestic.

I’m looking for someone to work for 4-5 days a week starting ASAP. Applicants must have a good level of furniture making experience, ideally having worked in the industry full time for a number of years.

The work will involve building furniture from scratch, I will give an amount of training, but applicants must be competent to work independently from the start.

Essentials

• Full working knowledge of commonly used tools.
• Working knowledge of techniques used in furniture construction.
• Good knowledge of timber, sheet materials & fixings.
• Knowledge of 3D design software, particularly Sketchup. Autodesk Fusion 360 would be a bonus.
• Long term commitment.
• An active interest in design.
• Driving licence and preferably a vehicle.
• References from previous jobs & photographs of your work
