Learning and Outreach Manager (Arts Council Collection)

Southbank Centre and the Arts Council Collection are seeking an experienced and innovative Learning and Outreach Manager to join the team and deliver the Education Action Plan for the Arts Council Collections’ 70th Anniversary National Partners Programme.

The Arts Council Collection is the national loan collection of modern and contemporary British art.  Founded in 1946, the Collection is the UK’s most widely seen collection of modern and contemporary art. It has no single home but is promoted and shown through strategic partnerships across sectors and at a range of venues that host long loans from the collection. 2016 marks the 70th anniversary of the Arts Council Collection and the launch of the National Partnership Programme, a new scheme to support the artistic ambitions of a new constellation of partner galleries.

We are looking for a Learning and Outreach Manager with excellent experience of managing and delivering an innovative arts education programme across a number of art forms,  to deliver an Education Action Plan for the National Partners Programme, which will set out the individual and collective learning activity and targets of each partner including the Collection, and how activity will increase children’s and young people’s engagement with the Collection.

With excellent project management skills and a proven track record of managing and producing complex arts education and/or outreach projects on time and within budget; the ideal candidate will have a good knowledge  and appreciation of modern and contemporary British art and a flexible, creative and innovative approach to work. Able to demonstrate a keen awareness of the local, national and international context of arts educations you will have excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in your ability to build and manage productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

This post can be based at  Longside, Yorkshire Sculpture Park or Southbank Centre, London.

Contract: Part-time, 24 hours per week. Fixed-term, July 2016 – May 2019.
