Learning Producer (Visual Arts)

Ferens Art Gallery & Heritage Learning are seeking a Visual Arts Learning Producer to manage an extensive four year programme of visual and contemporary art learning and engagement programming across Ferens Art Gallery and Hull Museum venues.

Leading on the design of an accessible arts offer for primary, secondary and special schools, young people aged 16-25, adults, including those with additional needs, and families; you will carry out sector specific research into best practice, seeking innovation & excellence within visual and contemporary art learning programming nationally and internationally.

Your responsibilities will include; carrying out extensive consultation with target audiences and partners in order to identify specific needs and ongoing barriers to engagement, working with them to overcome and demonstrate how engagement with visual and contemporary art can uniquely meet those needs.

Managing the design, development and delivery of a strong and accessible visual and contemporary arts offer across Ferens Art Gallery and wider Hull Museum venues, aimed at target audiences from across Hull, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire you will review and enhance existing programming in line with current practice within the arts and education sectors and manage the development, piloting, implementation, delivery and evaluation of a number of new creative learning programmes and projects bespoke to the identified needs of schools and young people (aged 16-25) from across the region.

You will also develop, lead on and evaluate a programme of INSET/CPD that will support primary and secondary teachers to understand the impact and outcomes of creatively engaging with visual art collections through Heritage Learning’s programmes, demonstrating and promoting the value of our work regionally and nationally.

You will work with the team at Ferens Art Gallery to secure funding in order to develop new and existing learning spaces, leading on the research and commissioning of new spaces for learning within the gallery, in line with national sector best practice. You will also work with artists and external contractors, leading on the research and commissioning of new learning resources, exhibitions and specialist arts equipment.
