Training & Development Advisor

You’ll be overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive service at all levels of the organisation, working with multi-disciplinary teams, senior managers and individuals. It’s also your chance to work in this genuinely inspiring environment, with 6 historic heritage museum locations, Birmingham Museum and Art gallery, Think Tank, and Museums Collection centre.

We are also embarking on major projects which you will be involved in and that Organisational Development and Succession planning will play a major part.

You will work with senior managers to formulate our annual training needs analysis and succession plans – this wide-ranging role includes overseeing and co-ordinating management and specialist development programmes, Health & Safety training and apprenticeship activities.

In addition, you’ll research external courses and arrange for staff to attend them, manage the accreditation processes, develop and deliver internal training and learning sessions,   liaise with external providers and oversee the training budget, reporting into the Head of Human Resources.

With experience gained in an HR or training environment, you should be a strong communicator and team-worker with an understanding of training needs analyses, evaluation, apprenticeship development and competency frameworks.

A knowledge of learning styles is important too, plus first-rate administrative skills, a keen eye for detail and a ‘customer first’ approach. You will line manage a highly experienced Training Co-ordinator and be expected to be flexible in your workload.
