Learning Project Coordinator (Burberry Inspire)

The Hepworth Wakefield has welcomed over 2.3 million visitors since opening in May 2011 and is now firmly established as a major local, national and international attraction, winning Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2017. We present an outstanding programme of historical and contemporary exhibitions alongside displays drawn from Wakefield’s collection of 20th-century and contemporary art. In an expansion of our waterfront site, in Summer 2019 we will open outdoor sculpture displays in The Hepworth Wakefield Garden, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith. We value all our staff and their commitment to driving our success.

We are seeking an experienced Learning Project Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of the Burberry Inspire project at The Hepworth Wakefield. This high-profile project brings together cultural partners, schools, researchers and the creative industries to develop innovative arts provision for KS3 pupils and to advocate for investment in the arts.  Working closely with the Senior Learning Manager, teachers, artists and project partners, the Learning Project Coordinator will coordinate an annual programme of artist residencies, after-school clubs, visits to the gallery and large-scale sharing events.

You will be joining at an exciting time, as The Hepworth Wakefield leads the cultural regeneration of Wakefield’s historic waterfront, including the creation of The Hepworth Wakefield Garden, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith, opening this summer.

We are looking for someone who has a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum, national and local health and wellbeing agendas, and the experience of developing and evaluating programmes and projects for KS3 pupils within a public arts organisation.

You will be a highly organised, audience-focused individual with excellent communication skills, which will enable you to develop successful and sustainable partnerships and collaborations.

If you have experience of developing high-quality learning provision within a museum or gallery setting, we would love to hear from you.
