Derby Museums offers a full, varied programme of family activities across the three sites that make up the Trust – The Museum & Art Gallery, Pickford’s House and The Silk Mill. With an emphasis on co-producing and facilitating intergenerational learning experiences which engage the head, heart and hands, we deliver hundreds of learning activities every year.
Our activities draw inspiration from the outstanding permanent collections, which range from Archaeology, Natural History, Industrial History, Joseph Wright Paintings of international significance as well as a varied programme of temporary exhibitions. There are plenty of creative opportunities to inspire and engage our audiences – from tots, teens and older adults!
As we look ahead to a busy period in the programming schedule, we are recruiting a Programming Assistant to work as part of the Audiences & Communities Team at Derby Museums. Working with the Audiences & Communities Team throughout the Christmas period and into 2017, you will be expected to jump straight in to a busy working environment – bringing your creative, organisational and communication skills to the role.
The Programming Assistant will be responsible for supporting the creative implementation of our varied lifelong learning programme to include Joseph Wright related programming. From activity development, set up, administration and monitoring – this role will be diverse as you support the Learning Facilitators and Lifelong Learning Programmer in the smooth delivery of a variety of workshops and activities.
