Assembly House is seeking to recruit its first regularly paid employee in order to bring fresh ideas and drive the organisation forward in the next stage of its development. The role suits an adaptable, hard-working, ambitious and creative individual wishing to embark on the early stages of a career as an Arts Organiser. This might be recent Graduates, current Masters Students, Artists and Creatives seeking to embark on Curatorial, Production, Marketing or other coordinating roles within the sector. We also encourage application from unorthodox backgrounds.
Successful applicants will take on responsibility for most aspects of the day-to-day operations of the organisation, with support and guidance from the Directors. Whilst this will be admin heavy and involve coordinating studio upkeep, supporting venue hires and facilitating existing programme, there will be opportunity to creatively shape the future direction of the organisation’s Artistic Programme and Professional Development Support activities.
After an initial period of training this role will have significant autonomy, provided basic duties are completed on a timely and satisfactory level. Whilst reporting to the Directors this relationship is expected to be one of peer-to-peer support and guidance with the opportunity upon completion of the 6 month probation of becoming a Director.
