Technical Assistant (p/t)

Wolverhampton Arts and Culture are seeking a p/t Technical Assistant to support our exhibitions programme and collections care across the City Council’s cultural venues: Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Bantock House, Bilston Gallery and the City Archives.

The suitable applicant will ideally have experience of working in an art gallery or museum setting to prepare and install high-quality exhibitions. The Technical Assistant will support the Technical Officer in all aspects of exhibition changeovers, preparing and maintaining exhibits, minor conservation work and assisting with exhibition planning. This will include British Art Show 9 which will open in March 2021.

This role requires an organised self-starter who is able to work as part of a team. Excellent practical skills, health and safety awareness and attention to detail are essential. The post also requires frequent manual handling and working at height. Training will be available to build additional skills.

The post-holder will work to maintain a renowned and high-quality exhibition programme in line with our current status as a National Portfolio Organisation.
