About
Conversation On Ceramics is the final event taking place as part of Hold Up, an online project by Lulu Senft.
The talk night will feature a conversation between Lulu and Collective Matter, discussing Lulu’s artistic practice and the work she made during her Ceramics Residency. The talk night is available to all who want to get involved, and will be broadcast on Zoom so you can join from the comfort of your own home.
The project explores ideas of support, grief and narrative, focusing on one of Senft’s primary materials – clay. Lulu’s work is often made up of figures, busts, and faces created using tactile, expressive materials.
Lulu Senft is an animation director, modelmaker and illustrator from London. She describes her work as being “mostly character-led”, and loves to tell stories. Lulu recently completed a Ceramics Residency with Collective Matter, where her body of work for Hold Up was produced.
ABOUT THE COLLECTIVE MATTER RESIDENCY
Collective Matter is a collaborative project by three artists, Eva Masterman, Mary O’Malley and Katie Spragg. The Collective Matter Residency is a six-month artist residency programme, where creatives working with clay are provided with working facilities, technical assistance and tutorials.
The residency is run out of a studio space at Sugarhouse Studios in Bermondsey, London, which is managed by Turner Prize winning art/architecture/design group ASSEMBLE.
